General Product Overview:

Our Western Red Cedar is a high quality product, locally finished and available in 3 standard colour ranges. The 3 colours are:
- Light-to-Mid clear lacquer finish (45mm slat only)
- Mid-to-Dark clear lacquer finish (45 & 60mm slats)
- Tinted-Mid lacquer finish (45 & 60mm slats)
This colour range has been selected to cater for the tastes of most consumers. The
L-M and M-D clear finishes highlight the natural grain and wood toning, while the Tinted-Mid colouring has been developed for those customers wanting a more consistent wood colouring throughout their cedar blinds. All the slat finishes use
UV-cured lacquers for long life.
Product Sizes:
Slats are stocked in 46×3mm and 60×4mm (width x thickness) sizes.
We stock 2 fascias, ie 85×5mm flat fascia, and 90×8mm Harbour Bridge design.
Bottom Rail is the standard 45×16mm bullnose design.
Length Distributions:
For all products, typical lengths range from 1.8mtr to 3.9mtr in 300mm increments. We do not generally stock lengths shorter than 1.8mtr.
At the time of order, you can request a specific length and we will do our best to supply as requested if that specific length is in stock at that time. If not in stock at our warehouse local to you, we will provide you with the options for the nearest lengths that are available from that warehouse, or from one of our other interstate warehouses. Shipments from other than your nearest warehouse may incur some transport costs.
Since Cedar is a natural product, it is not possible for the mills to supply entirely uniform lengths for slat, fascia and bottom rail profiles. As a result, approximately 15% of all boxes we receive contain mixed lengths of product, ie a mixture of various lengths inside a single carton. Generally the mix is only 2 or 3 different lengths close to each other, but occasionally there can be boxes with a wider range of mixed lengths. At Blindware, we stock control these mixed-length cartons and can generally tell you the availability of such cartons from any of our warehouse locations. In some cases, mixed length cartons can provide an economical way to buy cedar, since the mixed lengths may be better matched to your individual job requirements. We will never send you mixed length cartons without first checking that it is OK, but you must be aware that all customers will be asked to accept a small percentage of mixed length stock over time.
